Golf Tournament for the P.E. Program
There are a few more days to sign up for this incredibly fun afternoon of golf in support of our school’s PE program. We play a ‘scramble format’ which means everyone hits the ball and then you all play your next shot as a team from the best ball. It makes it more social and fun, and takes the pressure off those of us who don’t always (or ever) hit it straight. The day includes lunch, a dinner at the end of the round, and beverage treats along the way. Whether you are a pro, a frequent player or just want to go for a lovely walk on a Friday afternoon and hit some golf balls, this is a great tournament for you!

Please take a moment to sign up today and send Jane a quick email at to let her know.

Opportunity Draw Tickets
There are some fantastic items in the Opportunity Draw this year, including Gulls tickets, restaurant gift certificates and salon services. Send in the order form by Thursday, Oct. 5 to be entered into the drawing. Tickets will also be available at the golf tournament.

Notes from the FOMS Meeting
Thank you to all that attended the first FOMS meeting of the year! We had a packed agenda but managed to cover a lot of topics in 45 minutes!

Fundraising: Our fundraising goal for 2017/18 is $130,000. We raise this money through events, the annual pledge drive, and other smaller events and programs (AmazonSmile, BoxTops, Shoparoo, etc). We’re off to a good start with $1,500 raised at the Beautiful Fundraiser in South Park. To donate for a one-time or monthly donation, please visit our webpage.

Call for Board Members! Let us know if you are interested in any of the open board positions, including Vice President. Terms are 2 years and we hope to have the VP position filled by the October FOMS meeting. Contact with any questions.

Gala Planning Team: Our annual spring gala is our biggest event of the year. It takes a lot of planning but we’re off to a good start – we have a date and a venue (March 10, 2018 at Bali Hai). The next step is procurement – seeking out donations for the silent and live auctions, and sponsors for the event. Heather Holliday and Wendy Fisk volunteered to head up the Procurement Committee but they are going to need a lot of help. Email Heather at for more information, and watch for future updates from FOMS on how to get involved.

Volunteer Opportunities: Check our website for opportunities to get involved. It is updated frequently, and you’ll find ways to volunteer on campus and from home. Whether you have 30 minutes or a full day, we have a job for you! Current opportunities include helping out at the Golf Tournament, Movie Night and the Book Fair.
